regarding DOS:  i believe that DOS and the mac OS were all based on unix,
anyway, correct?  well, mac and windoze were more based on
XWindows, but still unix-based.  anyhoo, i didn't mean to start any sort
of arguments here . . . i currently use the debian distro, myself . . . i prefer
apt-get, etc. to rpms . . . altho i wish slackware still put out a distro
. . . that's my fave!
